Apple strikes preliminary chip manufacturing deal with Intel
Apple and Intel have reached a preliminary agreement for Intel to manufacture some of Apple's processors. The deal marks a diversification of Apple's supply chain beyond primary partner TSMC, reducing dependency on a single foundry for critical silicon.
For Intel, the agreement represents a major customer win and validates its foundry business expansion under IDM 2.0. The partnership could signal growing appetite among fabless giants to reduce concentration risk with TSMC amid geopolitical tensions and capacity constraints.
