Mate Security closes $35M Series A, reaches $50M total funding; grows 500% since Q3 2025
Mate Security, a Tel Aviv-based AI security operations startup founded by Wiz and Microsoft alumni, closed a $35 million Series A led by Canaan Partners, with participation from Insight Partners, Team8, and M12 (Microsoft's venture fund). The round brings total funding to more than $50 million, less than a year after emerging from stealth in November 2025 with a $15.5 million seed round.
The company's platform is built around a patent-pending Security Context Graph that gives AI agents rich organizational context to investigate, respond to, and hunt for threats with higher precision. Unlike vendors bolting LLMs onto SIEMs, Mate structures AI security operations around a shared knowledge layer that lets multiple agents (Mate's own, vendor agents, and customer-built agents) operate against governed context while maintaining least-agency principles.
Mate has seen accelerating enterprise adoption, with more Fortune 500 organizations now deploying the platform. Business has grown over 500% since Q3 2025. The company will exhibit at Black Hat USA 2026 (August 3–6, Booth 4717) ahead of planned product and market expansion.
For architects: this signals the SOC market's pivot from LLM-plus-automation to context-first agentic architecture. Mate's focus on governance, organizational knowledge, and trustworthy reasoning over raw model performance reflects where buyer demands are moving in AI-driven security operations.
