NVIDIA Vera CPU challenges Epyc, Xeon in early Linux benchmarks

NVIDIA has begun issuing restricted access to its Vera CPU — an 88-core x86 processor — for early Linux benchmarking. Preliminary tests show the Vera competitive with or beating AMD Epyc and Intel Xeon in selected workloads, signaling NVIDIA's intent to enter the high-performance CPU market.

The move caps NVIDIA's pivot from GPU-only accelerator to full-stack compute infrastructure, with implications for datacenter server consolidation and ODM/OEM procurement cycles targeting 2026–2027 deployments.
