Oak emerges from stealth with $60M seed for AI-native identity platform

Oak, an identity management startup founded by serial cybersecurity entrepreneur Shai Morag, emerged from stealth with $60 million in seed funding led by Accel, Greylock Partners, and CRV, with participation from Hetz Ventures and AlphaDrive Ventures. The platform is already generally available and deployed across enterprise customers. Oak's core product is an AI-native Identity Operating System that consolidates legacy identity governance tools into a single control plane governing every identity in an organization—human, machine, and AI agent alike.

The core problem Oak targets: most enterprises cannot say who or what has access to their systems at any moment. Traditional identity and access management (IAM) tools were built for a slower world of static human users, but the explosion of machine and AI-agent accounts has outpaced them. Oak's AI-native architecture builds a live identity graph from raw evidence across all identity types, maps access against actual usage, and applies real-time risk decisions and root-cause remediation. Connectors integrate with any on-prem, cloud, SaaS, or homegrown application in hours rather than months.

Morag's track record helped secure one of the largest seed rounds for an Israeli cybersecurity startup. His previous three startups were acquired by NVIDIA's Mellanox (Integrity-Project, 2014), Palo Alto Networks (Secdo, 2018), and Tenable (Ermetic, 2023, acquired for $265M). For practitioners, this funding reflects growing market urgency around identity as an attack surface—especially with AI agents proliferating. Gartner projects 70% of CISOs will adopt identity visibility and intelligence capabilities by 2028, and Oak is betting consolidated AI-native architecture will replace the fragmented stack of point solutions.
