Rochester Electronics and Qorvo expand RF component supply for aerospace, defense

Rochester Electronics and Qorvo announced a worldwide distribution agreement to expand access to Qorvo's RF and power semiconductor solutions, with particular emphasis on long-term supply and lifecycle support. Rochester Electronics—the world's largest continuous source of semiconductors and a licensed manufacturer of end-of-life and active components—will now carry Qorvo's portfolio for aerospace, defense, connectivity, industrial, power management, and communications applications.

The partnership underscores demand for supply continuity in mission-critical markets. Rochester operates with over 15 billion devices in stock (200,000+ part numbers) and can manufacture over 70,000 device types, making it well-positioned to extend product lifecycles and minimize system redesigns. For customers in long-life applications, the deal reduces the risk of obsolescence and supports hardware reuse, a growing concern as supply chains tighten and product cycles extend.

For hardware vendors and system integrators, this expands the addressable pool of components available beyond traditional EOL sourcing. In aerospace and defense—where qualification costs are high and product lifespans extend decades—reliable access to continuing sources matters more than feature-leading nodes. The agreement reflects a broader industry trend: as geopolitical supply constraints bite, alternative authorized sources and lifecycle management become competitive advantages.
