ScioSense Launches UFC23 Ultrasonic Flow Converter for Smart Metering

ScioSense has launched the UFC23, an ultrasonic flow converter IC targeting high-precision, ultra-low-power smart metering applications. The device combines sensor signal conditioning with sub-micro-amp idle current, reducing power footprint in IoT and utility-grid deployments.

The UFC23 illustrates a narrow but critical edge-AI chip segment: analog and mixed-signal silicon purpose-built for infrastructure instrumentation where energy budgets are tight but measurement accuracy is mandatory. ScioSense competes with NXP and STM in this niche.
