SEC and Elon Musk settle Twitter buyout lawsuit from 2022

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Elon Musk have agreed to settle a lawsuit stemming from Musk's 2022 acquisition of Twitter. The settlement resolves claims around disclosure and valuation practices during the $44 billion transaction.

Terms of the settlement were not immediately detailed, but the accord ends a long-running dispute that had clouded Twitter's transition to X Corp. For enterprise tech leaders, the closure removes a lingering regulatory overhang that had shadowed X's data and infrastructure partnerships.
