TSMC July revenue surges 45% YoY on unabated AI chip demand; guides 40%+ full-year growth

TSMC reported July 2026 revenue of NT$467.58 billion ($14.5 billion), up 44.7% year-on-year, marking the world's largest chipmaker's continued strength amid robust AI infrastructure buildouts. The monthly result exceeds TSMC's full-year guidance of 40% revenue growth, putting the company ahead of expectations. High-performance computing (HPC), where TSMC books AI chip sales, accounted for 66% of Q2 revenues.

The company maintained an bullish outlook in its earlier quarterly earnings, raising 2026 revenue growth guidance to "slightly above 40%" and increasing capital expenditure to $60–64 billion—reflecting confidence in sustained AI demand. TSMC Chairman C.C. Wei stated "AI-related demand continues to be extremely robust." The capex hike underscores the foundry's commitment to expand advanced node output (3nm and below).

TSMC's clients include Nvidia, Google, Apple, and AMD. July's 44.7% growth signals that Big Tech capex cycles remain aggressive despite recent semiconductor sector volatility; the PHLX Semiconductor Index is down ~15% from June highs but still up 72% year-to-date. The company entered Fortune Global 500's top 100 for the first time (rank 82), reflecting the structural importance of AI chips to global corporate value.
